Compared to other forms of Vitamin K supplements, Lamberts Vitamin D3 & K2 is designed to reach your Joints & Bones and vessel walls more easily whilst also remaining biologically active within your Body for longer. In fact, Lamberts Vitamin D3 & K2 is the purest, most active and safe form of vitamin K2 to support normal bones and blood clotting. New studies are looking at the synergistic effects of vitamin K (specifically, vitamin K2) and Vitamin D in the area of both Cardiovascular health and bone strength. There are many studies that add weight to the argument that we should all watch our intake of both of these Vitamins. As many as 60% of the UK population is vitamin D deficient and low levels have been linked to serious health problems in later life.

What is Vitamin D3?

Vitamin D3 (Cholecalciferol-D3) is one of the four fat-soluble vitamins, which cleverly transforms into a hormone within the Body.

What is Vitamin K2?

Vitamin K2 is a group of compounds largely obtained from eggs, meat, cheese, and synthesized by bacteria. This fat-soluble vitamin has a history of use, dating back centuries to feudal Japan times. It is thought that during this period Samurai warriors consumed vast quantities of natto, a vitamin K2 rich dish made of fermented soybeans.

Why is vitamin D important?

Vitamin D helps regulate the amount of phosphate & calcium and phosphate within the body, which are required to keep teeth, bones, and muscles healthy. If the body cannot get enough vitamin D, it may become at risk of developing bone abnormalities such as fragile bones (Osteoporosis) or soft bones (osteomalacia).

Why is Vitamin K important?

The last decade has seen an increasing interest in the uses of vitamin K. Evidence from studies points to the importance of a regular intake of vitamin K in order to achieve optimal calcium regulation. Research has confirmed its use in activating K dependant (VDK) proteins which are needed for blood coagulation and other important processes like bone metabolism, cardiovascular health and the regulation of cell growth and apoptosis.

Many experts now believe that a sub-clinical vitamin K deficiency, that is, one that is not great enough to hinder blood clotting capacity, could be wide-spread and could contribute to osteoporosis, and other age-related diseases.
