    Vitamin K is a group of similar fat-soluble vitamins (like Vitamin E) that the Body requires for the post-synthesis modification of certain proteins that are required for binding Calcium in Bones and blood coagulation. Vitamin K is comprised in a group of two compounds;

    1. Vitamin K1 - obtained from leafy greens & some other vegetables.
    2. Vitamin K2 - obtained largely from meats, cheeses, & eggs, and synthesised by bacteria.

    How quickly does vitamin K work?

    Most vitamin K supplements are thought to start working within ten hours of taking them. They should reach their maximum effect within two days.

    Like vitamin K1, most individuals will not experience any side effects when taking the recommended daily amounts of vitamin K2 each day. However, in some rare cases some people may experience diarrhoea or a slight upset stomach.
