Cafe Direct are the UK’s first and largest 100% Fairtrade hot drinks brand. This award-winning smallholder Tea, Coffee and cocoa company buy directly from passionate growers and work with over 40 producer organisations in 14 countries. In over 25 years of activity they have built extremely strong relationships with all of their expert smallholder farmers.
They are proud to be the preferred coffee supplier for The Royal Albert Hall (one of the UK’s most treasured and iconic venues). Their products have won 30 Great Taste Awards over a ten year period, with 7 winning the Gold Star in 2014 alone. As the UK's first coffee brand to become a certified B Corp, Cafe Direct has exceeded the high standards that need to be met across four key areas: governance, workers, environmental impact & community.
Unlike any other coffee company, Cafe Direct invests 50% of their profits into Producers Direct, a UK charity that works directly with farmers to improve sustainability and livelihoods, right across the coffee growing world. This charity is run by farmers, for farmers, taking leadership and developing innovative solutions to the challenges they face. This reciprocal, direct relationship enables Cafe Direct to provide you with the great tasting and very high quality coffees you see below.
In nutshell, ground coffee, like Cafedirect Kilimanjaro Roast & Ground Coffee 227g or Cafedirect Machu Picchu Roast & Ground Coffee 227g is what brewed coffee is made of. Green coffee beans are roasted before being ready for consumption and are called whole coffee beans. Before being brewed however, whole coffee beans are ground into smaller particles to extract as much flavour as possible.
